Toronto`s Forest Hill reconstructs pre-war Jaslo Synagogue
A unique `first` in Lavi`s history was the construction of a synagogue burnt and razed to the ground by the Nazis during the Holocaust. This large and challenging project was recently completed. For 77 years Poland`s Jaslo synagogue was just a memory. Now it has sprung back to life in its new home in Forest Hills, Toronto, Canada. Lavi`s meticulous reconstruction included the furnishings, seating system and the large Holy Ark. Every item was matched to its historic original to create for the community a sense of home and primarily of Jewish continuity.
